BitVault Private

Your Keys.
Institutional Safeguards

A private security service for substantial Bitcoin holdings. Retain control of your personal keys while adding an independent operating layer for sensitive withdrawals, infrastructure administration and incident response.

For qualified private clients, families and professional investors.

Self-custody preserved
The client retains the required personal signing keys.
Independent operation
The Convenience Service is operated in an environment controlled by the Swiss Family Office.
No unilateral control
Neither the Swiss Family Office nor BitVault can move client funds alone.

A private security relationship

Peace of mind comes from a complete operating model.

BitVault Private adds professional procedures, personal verification and accountable support around the existing BitVault security architecture. The service is designed for holders who need more than a retail wallet or a standard software subscription.

  • Client-specific security design and activation
  • Direct support for sensitive withdrawals and incidents
  • Documented recovery procedures and periodic rehearsals

Separation of control

Three parties. Clearly separated responsibilities.

The client

  • Retains the required personal hardware-wallet keys
  • Approves destinations
  • Participates in activation and recovery procedures

Swiss Family Office

  • Manages the private-client relationship
  • Operates the independent Convenience Service
  • Retains the service secrets in its controlled environment
  • Performs instruction verification and first-line support

BitVault

  • Provides the security architecture and software
  • Supplies controlled releases and technical documentation
  • Provides second-line technical and protocol support
  • Does not hold the Swiss Family Office's secrets or administer its environment routinely

Neither the Swiss Family Office nor BitVault has sufficient authority to transfer client funds independently.

Long-term protection

Security designed for failures that may emerge years later.

BitVault Private is intended to improve the response to compromised devices, exposed signing material, operational mistakes and other incidents that cannot always be anticipated when a wallet is created.

Withdrawal controls
Documented procedures and verification around sensitive withdrawal activity.
Infrastructure protection
Hardened AWS access, logging, encryption, monitoring, backups and change controls.
Recovery readiness
Periodic exercises, trusted-contact reviews and a documented escalation process.

The exact Bitcoin descriptor, authorization branches, timelocks and recovery behaviour are documented in the client's technical security schedule before substantial funds are transferred.

Questions

Answered plainly.

Does BitVault or the Swiss Family Office take custody of my Bitcoin?

No. BitVault Private is a self-custody security service. You retain the personal signing keys required to authorise spending. BitVault provides the security architecture and software; the Swiss Family Office operates the independent Convenience Service. Neither party holds your Bitcoin.

Who controls the Convenience Service secrets?

The service secrets are retained by the Swiss Family Office within its controlled operating environment. BitVault does not hold those secrets or routinely administer the Swiss Family Office's environment.

Can either company move my funds independently?

No. Neither the Swiss Family Office nor BitVault has sufficient authority to transfer client funds on its own. Movements require the client's personal keys together with the separated service participation, as documented in your technical security schedule.

Is a dedicated HSM included in the standard service?

No. The standard service does not include a dedicated HSM. Clients with specific security, governance or infrastructure requirements may request a dedicated Convenience Service and/or a dedicated or managed HSM configuration, which is separately scoped, quoted and prepaid.

How are annual fees determined?

Annual pricing is based on the agreed protected-value tier: 0.30% on the first CHF 25 million and 0.15% on the amount above. Final commercial terms are confirmed privately during onboarding. The fee is for a security and operating service, not a performance or investment-management charge.

What happens before substantial funds are transferred?

The exact Bitcoin descriptor, authorisation branches, timelocks and recovery behaviour are documented in your technical security schedule. Activation and small-value rehearsals are completed before any substantial funding.

What happens if a key or device may have been compromised?

A documented incident-escalation process applies. Withdrawal controls, verification procedures and recovery readiness are designed to improve the response to compromised devices, exposed signing material and operational mistakes that may emerge years after a wallet is created.
